First and foremost: Hi, I’m glad you’re here.
I would be honored to be a part of your journey. My prominent focus in therapeutic work is Somatic Experiencing(™) and ecopsychology from a relational cultural framework. I also utilize acceptance and commitment therapy and parts work through inner-relationship focusing. The work that I am most called to do is to help others learn to work with (rather than against) themselves in developing a life of intention. This means that your values are centered and we will work to build trust in your nervous system by creating the space for you to explore your own magic and reclaim your shadows. Our work together is not about fixing, but rather discovering and finding ways to connect and/or reconnect to the many parts of yourself and to the world.
I am deeply relational by nature and believe that all humans are whole and worthy. Thus, I do not believe that any of us are broken, rather we are using adaptive tools to find our way in the world and that some of these tools need revision from time to time. I am constantly learning how to come from a deeper place of trust, connection, and enoughness.
Like all of us, I am a wonderfully imperfect human living in this complex and beautiful world. Given this, I’ve had my own life experiences that have shaped who I am and how I show up in the therapeutic relationship. My central experiences in life have been a rural upbringing, a youth spent engaging in the punk and bike messenger scenes, completing a PhD in Botany, learning how to embrace queer identity, and always learning more ways to utilize outdoor adventure and movement as tools for growth and healing.
I celebrate polyam, kink, queer, trans, endurance athlete and neurodivergent identities and am continually learning how to work within the mental health system while being committed to reducing the harm it can create. I especially love working with the queer community, athletes, students, and those working through trauma.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oregon State University. I have a PhD in Botany and Plant Pathology and a graduate certificate in college and university teaching. I completed my wilderness EMT in 2023 and am a SOLO wilderness medicine instructor at Oregon State University. I have completed mountain bike instructor training with Professional Mountain Bike Association and Fluidride. I am also a registered yoga instructor and have completed trainings with Yoga Medicine, Mindful Strength, and Jason Crandell. I am currently a student in the Somatic Experiencing® Professional Training Program, seeking to complete the educational and related requirements of the program to use the Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner credential.
I am a current member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE), and Somatic Experiencing International (SEI).
