A Path to Healing Through the Outdoors
Nature-based and ecotherapy approaches allow us to remember and reclaim our connection to nature. Through this reconnection, we can find ourselves and each other again. In this work, nature will be honored as a co-therapist and an important guide in your path back to connection.
Nature-based and ecotherapy approaches are therapeutic practices that harnesses the healing power of nature to support mental health and well-being. Sessions can be done inside, using nature as metaphor and building our connection to the natural world, or outside on a bench or on a walk. By engaging with and connecting to the natural environment, you will be invited to explore emotions, nervous system responses, and reflect on life experiences to restore a sense of balance and nervous system regulation.
These approaches seek to heal the divide between humans and nature and bring us back to our true roots. This reconnection with mindful awareness can help us reevaluate stress, allow shame to be soothed, enhance emotional clarity, and improve overall wellness and resilience.
How Do Nature-Based and Ecotherapy Approaches Work?
Sessions can take place indoors or outdoors depending on the individual needs and interests. We will always start our relationship by meeting in the office or remotely to understand your unique needs and interests. From there, we will either incorporate elements of nature into sessions or move sessions outdoors. If we decide to go outdoors, we will typically meet at a park or trailhead for our 50 minute session. Depending on your therapeutic and physical needs, the session could be done by sitting on a bend or in motion. Outside sessions are not ment to be physical exercise, rather we use the moment of the body to help build nervous system regulation and allow access to different locations. In a session, we may:
- Engage in Mindfulness Practices: Techniques such as mindful walking, deep breathing, or simply observing nature help regulate the nervous system and bring focus to the present moment.
- Reflect in Nature: Nature offers a safe, nurturing space to reflect on emotions, gain new perspectives, and explore challenges.
- Foster Connection: The healing process often involves building a deeper connection with the natural world, helping you feel grounded, restored, and more in tune with your inner self.
- Utilize Somatic Practices: Build more connection to body in nature to deepen connection, experiences, and to integrate.

Why Choose Nature-Based and Ecotherapy Approaches?
Nature offers an environment that is nurturing, non-judgmental, and deeply healing. Many clients find that nature provides an opportunity for emotional release, clarity, and renewal that they might not experience in traditional therapy settings. For those who feel disconnected or overwhelmed by modern life, nature provides a space to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what truly matters.
If you’re ready to explore the healing potential of nature, we invite you to experience nature-based and ecotherapy approaches. Together, we’ll work to create a path of healing that honors your individual needs, harnessing the power of the natural world to support your journey to increase resilience, awareness, and connection.
